For this regional centre, 2001 was a year of efforts to extend the system of ecological farming in the RC area - in the districts of Břeclav, Vyškov, Znojmo, Brno (both the city and the countryside), Třebíč, Žďár nad Sázavou, Pelhřimov, Havlíčkův Brod, Jihlava. It is a large area of very diverse natural conditions and thus methods of agricultural land-cultivation and production structure of companies also vary. It was difficult to solve the needs of individual enterprises. This brought the idea of dividing the RC into two smaller ones, which would have a better chance of solving particular problems of the enterprises more intensively. Thus, since January the1st, 2002, two independent reional centres have been in operation in Brno and Humpolec. They are both well equipped to be able to provide good quality service for those involved in ecological business. Through joint activity with a secondary school of agriculture, the Humpolec RC can extraordinarily improve its advisory and educationl potential which is much needed in the highland area.

Priorities of 2001
The priorities of 2001 mostly consisted of advisory and educational events:
- 22nd February: a regional meeting - solving the problems in company registration according to Act 242/2000 on Ecological Farming
- 24th April - "Earth Day" in the town of Třebíč - presentation of RC activities and the "Biozahrada" (Organic Garden) project
- 1st June - a seminar with the topic of "Soil fertility in the ecological system"
- 12 October in Humpolec and 30 October in Brno - a course for ecological businesspeople
