    PRO-BIO

    WORK OF THE ASSOCIATION SECTION

The Section of Specialized Organic Food Retailers

2001 brought a few changes in the member base of this section. Five shops ceased operation and at the same time new retailers applied for membership and were accepted into this PRO-BIO section.
The year was busy with well established activities:
in February - a trip to Biofach exhibition in Nuremberg, connected with a visit to some Czech ecological farms.
In March - the 6th National Get-together of Organic Food Retailers was held in Šumperk.
A grant programme supported by the Partnership Foundation was fulfilled. The programme focused on marking registered organic food sales points with signs and equipping the sales points with promotional materials.
Participation in the PRO-BIO Association promotional events, smaller promotional events were organised on regional level.
For the year 2002 an adjustment of development and activities of the organic food retailers section, a successful implementation of which depends on the active participation of section members.

In April the section held seminars in Prague and Brno on gardening according to cosmic rythms with Maria and Matthias K. Thun from Germany as lecturers. The section also assisted the organisation of the newly existing České Kopisty Camphill.
During the year Sowing Days 2001 was distributed; Sowing Days 2002 was published at the end of the year in new design. In cooperation with Fabula Hranice publishers the section produced books entitled "The Garden According to Cosmic Rythms" by Maria Thun and "The Decision" by Herbert Witzenmann.
